Bulgarian National Alliance (BNA) (Bulgarian: Български национален съюз, БНС) is a Bulgarian far-right informal and non-partisan organization based in Sofia. Self-defined as patriotic and protecting Bulgarian values, BNA uses the proto-Bulgarian symbol IYI. ==History== BNA was created in 2001 as successor to the Union of Bulgarian National Legions. A longtime leader of the organization is Boyan Stankov, nicknamed Rasate. In 2010 he retired from the presidency, and in his place Co-Chairs Zvezdomir Andronov, Assen Krastev and Nikolay Nikolaev were elected. In 2005, BNA took part in parliamentary elections together with the National Union "Attack". After the secession of BNA leaders of the organization decided to register his political movement named "Guard". The former leader of the BNA, Boyan Rasate, tops the list of the party "Bulgarian National Union" New Democracy "(BNU-ND) for early parliamentary elections on October 5, 2014. On this occasion the BNA stressed that it had nothing to do with the party BNU-ND and that BNA did not support "implicitly or explicitly" any of the political parties participating in the elections.
